Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows
Take it in
One of Yoko Ono’s art works that was on display at the MCA instructed visitors to stamp on a wall of maps where their favourite place in the world was.. (or something along those lines) From the density of stamps on the map, you can probably tell I (and the artwork) was in Sydney.
Being back home was wonderful - familiarity, the mundane and doing nothing never felt so satisfying..
Whilst amazing an experience travelling and living on the opposite side of the world was/is, it also made me long for home, and has reinvigorated a ‘place’ that I once thought was stale and tired. It could very well be because I was still stuck in holiday mode, but I’d like to believe it goes beyond that. Absence makes the heart grow fonder..? Reflection brought about by distance and the passing of time?
